We had a few drops of rain this morning but continue to be extremely dry in the entire upstate area. The sky is beautiful today, though, and I pulled out my camera to take this shot from our back yard.

After a few days of in-service meetings at school I went out tonight to see our football team play in a pre-season Greenville County Jamboree. The team got off to a quick start scorning on the opening kickoff. I got this shot on our second series.

As summer nears an end and a new school year approaches I will be taking more shots of school activities. Our football team played in a jamboree on Saturday night at Furman University. There were eight teams playing two twelve minute quarters and our game was the third so it was under the lights. That makes it more of a challenge to get good action shots.

I did arrive early and saw the last several minutes of the game before ours and took a few shots from the stands rather than on the sideline. This shot is of a key play in the game. This interception came with the team in blue holding a 10 – 7 advantage.

As summer nears an end we have seen an increase in the number of butterflies, especially swallowtails. This evening I saw two large swallowtails on the butterfly bush as I drove into our driveway. This shot is a crop from the original. If you click on the photo and view the original size print there you can see more detail as this one feeds on the flower. I also got several shots of a dragonfly that posed for a while on the antenna of the car.
