I tool this shot using a long (1 sec.) exposure with the camera set on a tripod. I took several shots playing around with settings. Good news and bad news is that you can get a good deal on Christmas trees the weekend before Christmas but the selection is slim. Lowes only had a couple of trees left on Saturday but it was half price. With the rain coming down (and someone else trying to decide on whether to purchase a tree) I decided to get this one rather than spend the rest of the afternoon hoping to find one.
We do look forward to our Christmas Eve service at church. It is always one of our favorite services of the year and we are looking forward to having Jennifer and Lee visit with us and come to the service.

We noticed the full moon yesterday and then saw an article today about how the moon was at it’s closest point. I went out to take this shot this evening since the moon will not be as close again for 15 years.

I regularly read a website devoted to Pentax which includes a forum. It includes photos others have taken, reviews of lenses and equipment, and just general discussions of photography. One recent thread is a game where a photo is posted and folks try to guess what the subject is. Most of the photos are cropped from a larger photo showing just a portion of the object. Whoever guesses correctly posts the next photo and the game begins again.
After guessing correctly that a shot was a closeup of a cantaloupe it was my turn to post. I taped one lens so that the front of it was against the front of the lens on the camera and began taking photos of various objects in the room. I decided on this shot of the tuning gear of my charango, an andean stringed instrument with ten strings. Click on the image to see other shots at my Flickr site.
