A Little Squirrelly

As cold as it has been lately I’ve been surprised that we haven’t seen any squirrels in our yard. This afternoon there were a couple, however, so I took a few shots. There was one on the oak tree in our yard that I was able to photograph through the window. When I went outside he took off but I did see this guy across the street. He was a bit more cooperative and posed for me while safely out of reach on a high limb.

Another Bird on a Wire

This is one of my first shots with a new camera, the Pentax K20D. I’ve shot about 800 shots so far mostly at a wrestling match and basketball game at school. I am about to get used to it. It is quite similar to my K10D but between the new features and the changes in the menu items it is taking a little time to tweak it like I want. The extra resolution does allow a little more cropping so that is nice (although the 10.2 megapixels on the K10D never really restricted me much in cropping.) I’m looking forward to

Moon in the Morning

I had really thought about trying to participate in a Picture a Day type theme this year but things have been a bit busier than I expected and I’ve had few chances to take any shots since the start of the year.

In keeping with a theme I did notice the moon as I was leaving for school a few days ago. I had my camera since I was planning to take some shots later that day and pulled it out to take this shot. It turned out pretty well but I wish I had set the ISO a bit lower.
