We spent the weekend in Roanoke celebrating Mavis’ 80th birthday. We had a great time and managed to keep a couple of surprises up our sleeves including having Jennifer travel with us and Dena and I singing in church Sunday morning. This was one of my favorite shots taken of the reaction to Jennifer’s gift — a stuffed dog singing the James Brown hit “I Feel Good” complete with wagging tail. Yesterday we had temperatures near 60 degrees and the birds were out in large numbers. I went to a lake near our house to try and get some shots of the ducks we saw as we drove by but they were not close enough to get any good shots. I was able to get a few shots of this blue jay perched on a limb outside our front door. This shot was taken through the window. He flew off when I tried to sneak outside and get closer.
